Overwatch will be getting some new heroes – but what kind of hero would you like to see?
What role should the next hero fulfill?
With a total of 21 heroes, Overwatch is already relatively diverse, but Blizzard has already announced before the release of the shooter that there will be more heroes. These will be released for free, along with additional maps and game modes planned for the future.
The current heroes are divided into a total of 4 categories that better define their role: there are 6 offense heroes, 6 defenders, 5 tanks, and 4 supports so far. However, these classifications are rather flexible and not a rigid categorization, as a Roadhog can also work well as an offense hero, while a Soldier: 76 can also provide solid support when communication in the game is good.
Cortyn says: I would like to see another support character that functions like Abathur in Heroes of the Storm. A supporter who hides in a more or less concealed location and “hacks” into the technical devices of their teammates from there, boosting them with shields or an additional turret. Alternatively, they could also “hack” into enemies and impair their vision – there are numerous possibilities like slight screen shakes or a sudden “ammunition loss”. The idea of a sniper healer who injects healing substances into friends over long distances also sounds intriguing.
What ideas do you have for new heroes? What abilities are you missing and what should definitely make it into the game?
