Blizzard proves humor and surprises Overwatch fans with the posting of a Christmas “skin.” Unfortunately, not as hoped.
At Blizzard, outside of BlizzCon, one often feels that the developers or “Blues,” such as community managers or GameMasters, maintain a particularly stiff tone and have little time for pure humor or fun. However, the Twitter account of Overwatch likes to poke fun at its fans. After it was announced in the past few days that there would be a Christmas event for Overwatch starting December 13, wild speculations immediately sprang up.
On Twitter, the user wsxzelas asked if the team could tease the players with an image of one of the new skins. And Blizzard reacted. Just not in the way the fans expected.

Anyone who has always wanted to know the exact structure of the skin is now probably a bit wiser than before. Everyone else is half annoyed, half amused watching the screen. Ultimately, there seems to be nothing else to do but wait for the start of the event – because skins and game modes will probably not be tested on the test server beforehand. That would somehow ruin the surprise.
So far, several game data for the Christmas event have been read, such as a modified soundtrack with festive sounds. In any case, there will be a map variation of King’s Row that will be covered in snowfall. Additionally, there are initial hints of an “arena,” but there are no concrete ideas about what will happen there (perhaps a snowball fight?).
Have you seen the “Play of the Game” moments of the week? Mei turns into Ana’s Pokémon!
