If a team fight doesn’t bring a victory, then just a 1on1 in Overwatch – the funniest Torbjörn duel ever.
The end of a regular match in Overwatch is usually quite chaotic. During the overtime, all players frantically try to rush to the control point to defend or contest it mostly without much tactic, to keep the time running.
But it doesn’t have to be that way! Why not end a match with a cool duel where both teams just watch?
The player TheBeginS just wanted to play a round of Quick Match and ended up on the map Hanamura. Although the match was intense and exciting in the first minutes, it eventually lost steam. In a humorous way, the enemy Roadhog sat down on the control point using an emote and stopped resisting. The Hanzo from TheBeginS’s team did the same – and a friendly chat developed among all players. No more shooting occurred and the mission objective disappeared.
But after the cozy chat, the match still had to be decided somehow. Both sides agreed on the only fair method that apparently exists:
A Torbjörn hammer duel to the death.
All other players left the control point and only the two Torbjörns remained to repeatedly smash each other in the face with their hammers. Only the healing for small armor packs was allowed. How such an absurd match ends, you can see here.
What’s cool is that all 12 players actually participated in this spectacle and no one interfered.
Back then, in the good old days of Counter Strike, there was the honorable duel of the knife round. Instead of relying on weapons, all opponents only used the knife in close combat to decide the first match. The fact that this trend still lives on might bring a few nostalgic tears to some players’ eyes.
