The tier list for Overwatch in February has been released – which heroes are “top” and which are “flop”, we reveal to you here.
The experts from Metabomb regularly provide their assessments of various heroes from Overwatch. They take into account the current meta and the latest patches – especially changes to the heroes, such as buffs and nerfs.
Tier 1 – The Overpowered
- Lúcio (Support)
- Reinhardt (Tank)
Lúcio remains the unbeatable hero, with few who can match him. No other character offers such a diverse mix of healing, shields, and speed boost. Reinhardt is also right up there – as the epitome of a tank, he relies on teamwork, which usually works with his large, blue barrier shield.
Tier 2 – The Strong Elite
- Zenyatta (Support)
Zenyatta has been placed lonely and abandoned in Tier 2 – as an offensive supporter, he is still able to wipe out entire teams on his own in skilled hands.
Tier 3 – The Strong Allrounders
- Soldier: 76 (Offensive)
- Ana (Support)
- Mercy (Support)
- Roadhog (Tank)
- Zarya (Tank)
Most heroes in Tier 3 have many strengths and only few weaknesses. Ana has dropped a bit with her nerfs, and Roadhog has also declined slightly – but all heroes here can really annoy the enemy.
Tier 4 – The Solid Midfield
- Junkrat (Defensive)
- McCree (Offensive)
- Reaper (Offensive)
- Sombra (Offensive)
- Tracer (Offensive)
- Symmetra (Support)
- D.Va (Tank)
Heroes in Tier 4 have significantly more weaknesses. Especially D.Va has dropped significantly since she lost armor. Sombra still struggles to be truly useful, and Reaper, Junkrat, and Tracer are often countered – sometimes a bit too easily.
Tier 5 – A Bit Too Weak or Situational
- Hanzo (Defensive)
- Mei (Defensive)
- Widowmaker (Defensive)
- Genji (Offensive)
- Pharah (Offensive)
- Winston (Tank)
Heroes in Tier 5 are either difficult to play (and are therefore often played “badly”) or rarely achieve the desired performance. Especially the snipers are only an asset in truly skilled hands, as they often feel useless in average players’ hands. Winston is particularly good at flushing out a Symmetra nest but has many weaknesses that often make him unusable as a tank.
Tier 6 – Needs a Buff/Revamp
- Bastion (Defensive)
- Torbjörn (Defensive)
Bastion and Torbjörn have almost completely disappeared from the current meta. They are rarely seen. Especially the omnic is weak and has many counters, so a buff for him is due soon. Torbjörn struggles with his turrets, and even the buffed build time doesn’t really help him to be able to place the turret in combat – it often gets destroyed in a fraction of a second.
Please consider that this list is not set in stone and only serves as a general guideline. It does not reflect how well an individual player can handle a specific character. If you clear the board with Bastion and Torbjorn – don’t take offense at this list.
