A game error reveals the awesome new Overwatch skin for Sombra at BlizzCon 2018. Diablo fans can rejoice!
Every year, during BlizzCon, there is a series of in-game goodies that players can enjoy after the event, to visually stand out in Overwatch, WoW, Hearthstone, and the other games.
Due to a bug, one of these cosmetic items has already been revealed: a skin for the Overwatch hero Sombra.
What happened? The user rudylovesfood posted a short video and many screenshots on Reddit showing an upcoming skin for Sombra. Although he was unable to see the skin in the hero gallery, he could already select it in the hero selection of a match.
New skin makes Sombra look similar to Valla
What does the skin look like? With the new appearance, Sombra takes on the form of a demon hunter, as known from the Diablo universe.
Visually, she strongly resembles Valla, whom players may also know from Heroes of the Storm. She wears a leather outfit and a hood that casts a large part of her face in shadow. Additionally, her eyes are white and pupiless. A typical, creepy look for a demon hunter!
How can you get the skin? The skin is marked in Overwatch with the “B” logo, which has always stood for BlizzCon skins or origin skins. This suggests that the skin is available to all participants of BlizzCon 2018.
However, you don’t necessarily have to attend in person; you can also simply purchase the virtual ticket and enjoy BlizzCon comfortably from home. Please keep in mind that this information has not yet been confirmed.
It is also possible that the skin will be available through another special promotion. Since rudylovesfood was able to select the skin directly after purchasing the virtual ticket for BlizzCon, the “BlizzCon skin” seems almost confirmed.
Initially, the skin was probably supposed to be revealed at a later date, as the “BlizzCon goodies” are a highlight each year.
Additionally, it raises anticipation for BlizzCon. The fact that the skin was revealed two months early this time is likely to annoy Blizzard.
