Anyone wanting the Demon Hunter skin for Sombra in Overwatch does not need to buy a virtual ticket. The look can also be obtained in other ways.
Last night (September 12, 2018), the “Kick Off” show for BlizzCon took place, which will be held in just under seven weeks. This also officially started the sale of virtual tickets for BlizzCon 2018. One of the accompanying goodies will be the Sombra skin we reported on yesterday. However, the skin can also be obtained in other ways.
When and how will the skin be available again? Blizzard has not yet revealed a specific time. However, the fine print on the promotional page for the BlizzCon ticket states that “the in-game items for Overwatch, StarCraft II, and StarCraft: Remastered will be available separately in 2019.” More detailed information will be released at a later time.
Especially for a limited time: This makes the Sombra skin likely an exclusive time-limited skin. Whether it can later be purchased with real money or will simply be included in loot boxes remains uncertain.
How much does a BlizzCon ticket cost? Anyone who wants to watch BlizzCon 2018 live from their home PC will have to dig a little deeper into their pocket. A ticket costs a whopping €40. However, you can watch all of BlizzCon’s broadcasts live (or later) and gain access to the in-game goodies. Many of these goodies will be revealed in the coming weeks.
We will be reporting diligently from BlizzCon. Anyone who does not purchase a virtual ticket will be kept up-to-date by us in a timely manner.
What do you think about the fact that some BlizzCon goodies can also be obtained through other means later? Is that a good thing, or should exclusive items really remain exclusive for a lifetime?
The Sombra skin is already in the game data from the new patch 1.28.
