Fans are hoping for new heroes for Overwatch during E3. But Blizzard and Terry Crews have rather bad news…
Fans of Overwatch have a hard time. They swing from event to event throughout the year, hoping for an announcement at every major gaming expo. Whether it’s BlizzCon, PAX, or GamesCom, there is always a flicker of hope that there might be a new hero for Blizzard’s shooter.
The next possible date would be E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
What was suspicious was that Terry Crews will also have an appearance at E3 to “announce something.” The announcement was so clearly related to Overwatch, that it could only be about “Doomfist.”
Terry Crews was chosen by the community as the voice for Doomfist, and he has repeatedly emphasized how much he would love to fulfill this duty. So what could be more fitting than a reveal of Terry Crews as Doomfist at E3?
Unfortunately, that will not happen. In an interview, Terry Crews has now confirmed that his appearance at E3 has nothing to do with Overwatch.
Worse still: Blizzard has already stated through Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, that this year’s E3 has no announcements for Overwatch.
Among fans, Doomfist has long been considered the next “sure” hero, as he is historically rooted in Overwatch. Additionally, his character played a significant role in the release of Orisa, where he tore apart the airport in Numbani.
Some fans hope that Crews and Kaplan are lying to keep the suspense alive and surprise the players. However, that seems more like a desperate wish for a new announcement rather than an actual possible scenario.
E3 will take place from June 13 to 15, 2017, in Los Angeles.
