It was a love that simply wasn’t meant to be. Terry Crews had hoped so much to voice the character Doomfist from Overwatch, and that motivation resonated with the fans as well. When Doomfist was finally released, it quickly became clear that this dream had not come true.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Terry Crews explained that he is not at all sad or disappointed about Blizzard’s decision.
“It’s funny because I was at Blizzard, and we talked about possibilities. That’s when I realized I didn’t want to be the guy who hijacked the game, you know? The developers have a vision for the game, and I didn’t want to ruin that. I didn’t want to force myself into the game, but I let them know that if anything would fit me in their program, I would love to do it.”
Therefore, fans should no longer be disappointed, as Blizzard has, in Crews’ opinion, only done what is best for the game.
“I can honestly say they made a decision that is better for the game. I know some people were sad, but I am not.”
Will Crews get another role in Overwatch?
For the future, he even leaves a little loophole open. Perhaps Crews already knows more about future content than we can guess:
“If I ever do something with Blizzard, just watch: It will be perfect. I get along well with those people, we are friends. I believe something will come out of this in the end.”
