Blizzard teases a new event coming soon in Overwatch . The first hints suggest that we will play as Talon.
Spring is slowly approaching, and this is the season when the popular “Anniversary” event takes place in Overwatch. For the anniversary of Overwatch, the “Archives” are available. These are special missions from the historical past of Overwatch, which contain much history and interesting PvE battles. A first teaser for the event in May 2019 has now been released.
What has Blizzard revealed? On the official Overwatch website, Blizzard published a newspaper article from 2060. The Spanish newspaper article reports on a traditional distillery in the Cuban city of Havana that has changed ownership in recent years. What was once a family business with a long tradition is now owned by a large corporation and is aimed at the global mass market.
The article further reports that the family never intended to sell the company and would have rejected such offers. However, after an arson attack that destroyed a large part of the facility, the family was forced to sell.
The same company is said to have bought other attractions, such as the “Havana Sea Fort”. All this would contribute to changes in Havana.
What fans are speculating: On Reddit, players suspect that the arson attack that led to the sale of the distillery was carried out by Talon. This would be the perfect entry point to step into the shoes of Talon characters during this year’s “Archives” event to carry out these attacks. After all, there is always a “Flashback” event for the anniversary.
Thematically, it would fit well to play a covert operation by Talon. Until now, fans have stepped into the role of the Overwatch heroes. A Talon operation would therefore be a welcome change.
