Overwatch and Pokémon GO were also awarded at the Golden Joystick Awards 2016.
Computer game awards are a bit of a thing – there are no real Oscars, but the Golden Joystick Awards come closest to the little golden guy with a hair growth problem. The 34th Golden Joystick Awards were recently held in London. Yes, you read that right – the awards have been around since 1983. The winners are voted on by the players – so it’s a public award. - “the best gaming moment” – with the Play of the Game
- the best multiplayer game
- the best “original game”, one that is based on its own source material
- the “Competitive Game of the Year”

Pokémon GO, the summer hit, takes home the award for best “handheld game” and also wins the “innovation of the year” award.

The Witcher 3 is also still quite successful: it earns an award for best performance (Doug Cockle as Geralt).
