Overwatch has “accidentally” become friendlier suddenly. Ana could no longer teabag other players after they were put to sleep.
Many Overwatch fans wondered in recent days, as a great “feature” of the support hero Ana suddenly became unusable. She could still send enemies to dreamland with her sleep arrow, but could no longer stand over their body and crouch repeatedly – teabagging was no longer possible. This led to many complaints in the forum. Ana had just received a buff on consoles.
What happened? Ana players noticed something strange after the last Overwatch patch. When they hit players with the sleep arrow, they were still put to sleep as usual, but they could no longer move over these players. A “teabagging”, that is, repeatedly crouching on the face of the defenseless opponent, was no longer possible. This was because the hitbox of the characters retained its full size, even when the character was on the ground.
Why is teabagging so controversial? Teabagging occurs in almost all shooters and is considered a disrespectful gesture, often seen as unsportsmanlike. In any case, it is intended to humiliate and mock the opponent. Therefore, some players thought that this change from Blizzard was intentional to make such behavior no longer possible. This incredible victory shows why one should never give up, even when frustrated.
Other players see it as completely normal behavior and believe that it is simply part of the game.
Right now, you can earn a new skin in Overwatch – but only for a limited time!
Some fans reacted angrily: For some players, teabagging seems to be such an essential part of the game that they can no longer play without it. For example, there was a user “>”assembler”, who posted in the official forum:
I checked it. They actually did it. It’s live. I uninstalled [Overwatch]. This is my last post. Goodbye Overwatch, after 3 years of playing every day. I will not support censorship of this degree.
However, there were also some players who welcomed this change. They say teabagging is “antisocial behavior” and has no place in a game.
This is what Blizzard says: Kotaku directly asked Blizzard and received a response. Blizzard confirmed that it is simply a bug that will be fixed soon. This error is to be resolved with a new patch within the next two weeks.
After that, Ana will once again be able to happily teabag her victims and drive them to rage quit.
Would you have liked to see this bug as a permanent change? Or do you think it’s good that “teabagging” is possible in most games?
