The first event of Overwatch is ending soon – last chance for the special loot boxes!
The End of the Summer Games, the Continuation of DDoS Attacks
If you can spare a bit of free time and haven’t already grabbed all the special skins from the current “Summer Games” event of Overwatch, now is the time to act. Tonight, on August 23, 2017, at 7:00 PM, the event will likely be over. After that, it will no longer be possible to snag the special Summer Games loot boxes. This also means the opportunity to get numerous skins, emotes, voicelines, and profile icons that were exclusive in the past weeks will vanish.
At the same time, the chance to buy the “Summer Games” loot boxes with real money is also dwindling – if you’re still waiting for a special skin (I curse you, Swiss Mercy!), you should now reach for your wallet or wait another year, as that’s when the Summer Games are expected to return – but even that is still up for discussion.
All of this is of course under the condition that you can even log into the game. Currently, Blizzard – as has happened countless times in the past weeks – is being attacked by a DDoS attack again, which can cause massive problems with the login servers. These issues affect not only Overwatch but also other Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Diablo 3.
