A new blog post from Blizzard is getting specific. “Sombra” from Overwatch reveals terrible truths and has a date.
After the initial excitement about Sombra’s initial hiding game, a character from Overwatch who has concealed herself behind an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) for many months, it seems that it is now coming to an end. Blizzard has issued another “press release” from the future, set in the Overwatch universe. The press release reveals that Sombra (at least currently) is not a single character, but the collective of players who wanted to solve the puzzle. Here are some excerpts from the release:
“LumériCo has become embroiled in a scandal, as secret documents were brought to light by the hacker collective “Sombra”. These documents were ostensibly stolen while bypassing the security measures of the energy company. While LumériCo and the Mexican law enforcement categorize these breaches as criminal acts, the Sombra collective claims to be acting “only in the public interest”.
The mentioned documents suggest that LumériCo is involved in strange dealings with Vishkar (for whom Symmetra works). Particularly interesting is that “Los Muertos” wants to hold a demonstration on November 1st against the unveiling of a new nuclear power plant by LumériCo. As the “1st of November” is mentioned as a fixed date, this could be a hint at the release – or another clue – from Blizzard.

Cortyn says: Finally… please let something exciting happen on Tuesday. Maybe a cinematic or the release of Sombra? Whatever it is, all eyes are back on Blizzard. If on Tuesday another ridiculous timer starts ticking, the community will likely lose their minds and flood the official forums with flames. After all, this is now a binding date when something will happen – and the whole “Sombra” story is slowly coming to an end.
