The professional players of Overwatch are widely complaining about Sombra. This may lead to another nerf.
Balance is a sensitive topic in Overwatch that repeatedly sparks wild discussions. Currently, Sombra has come under scrutiny from players and regularly triggers heated debates in the official forums and on Reddit.
The complaints seem to bear fruit, as according to a streamer, Sombra will be nerfed again in the near future.
The player Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo, who is currently playing for the Overwatch Contenders team Fusion University, revealed during a stream that Blizzard is aware of the Sombra issue. “Almost all players in the Contenders complained to Blizzard about Sombra” and received positive feedback that Sombra will be adjusted soon.
Sombra’s hacking is too fast and too powerful
The reason for the numerous complaints is the improvement of Sombra’s hacking. With the last major update, it was slightly reworked and can now hack a target within 0.65 seconds – interrupting it is barely possible.
But the effects of the hacking itself have also become more powerful, as Sombra now deactivates all abilities triggered by a button press. This includes things like Pharah’s rocket boost, as well as Hanzo’s and Genji’s wall climb.
We have detailed how exactly Sombra was changed with Patch 1.20 in the patch notes.
Before the patch, Sombra was too insignificant, now she is too powerful.
So far, this is just an unconfirmed rumor. An official announcement from Blizzard is still pending.
Do you think Sombra is currently too powerful? Or is she just a problem in the hands of professional players and not otherwise a big issue?
