Sombra is finally here. The new Overwatch hero has directly received a cinematic.
For many, many months, fans have speculated and followed the ARG to extract every piece of information from Sombra to find out when the newest Overwatch hero would come into the game. Many players suspected that Sombra would sneak onto the BlizzCon stage and introduce herself.
And it happened as it had to: Blizzard wanted to show a recap video during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2016 that summarizes the launch of Overwatch.
But then there were small audio glitches and eventually a complete failure of the video. However, this was not a technical defect, but Sombra simply hacking into BlizzCon to present her story-driven trailer titled “Infiltration“.

According to the trailer, Sombra was long in cahoots with Widowmaker and Reaper to cause some chaos – but then dedicated herself to her own goals.
What abilities she has will likely be revealed in the next few hours. If the trailer is to be believed, she can hack and manipulate various objects (or players?). In addition, she has her SMG as a firearm and a personal teleporter that she can place when needed to escape from tight situations.
Cortyn says: Right after the trailer, it was already clear to me that I would have a new favorite character. The problem: Many players will feel the same way. Sombra’s personality seems really cool, and the trailer showcased her so wonderfully that she will probably be a typical “instant pick” after her release. I guess I’ll have no choice but to wait until she becomes “boring” again.
