A small typo made big. A sign in Overwatch has now been changed and the community is happy.
In Overwatch, there are occasional small mishaps when developers try to incorporate as much cultural diversity as possible on the maps in the game. It is only logical that a small mistake can happen sometimes – after all, who can keep all the details about the customs of other countries in mind?
So it happened that on the new map Junkertown (currently on the PTR), the sign “Take Out” was displayed at a fast-food place – a trivial matter, one might think.
But in a game with such a large and vocal community like Overwatch, it doesn’t take long for such details to catch attention and be addressed.

A few weeks ago, it was already pointed out on Reddit that no fast-food restaurant in Australia would be called “Take Out”. While that is grammatically correct, it simply does not occur in Australia. There, it is called “Take Away” and is prominently displayed at most snack bars and eateries.
At that time, Jeff Kaplan, albeit with a clear wink, “apologized to Australia as a whole” and announced that they would adjust the sign in the future and eliminate this “cultural insensitivity”.
In the latest version of the PTR, the error has been corrected, and the sign now corresponds to the common terms used in Australia.

However, when the coffee cups will be adjusted, which should actually be much smaller in Australia, remains to be seen – but parts of the community are also waiting for that.
One will probably never be able to please everyone…
Fans only have a lukewarm interest in Junkertown – the Queen is much, much more interesting.
