Blizzard talks about the sexuality of the characters from Overwatch. And it seems to be quite colorful.
When Overwatch was presented in detail at BlizzCon last year, fans were immediately thrilled by the wide range of different characters. Many groups of players felt represented in Blizzard’s new universe. During the subsequent “Q&A” session, it was asked whether there is a homosexual character in Overwatch, which was confirmed by the developers. Since then, there has been plenty of speculation and even more fanfiction exploring almost every possible pairing – however, no further statements from Blizzard. Until now.
At BlizzCon 2016, there was again a Q&A session on Overwatch, and once again the topic came up: “Since last year, we haven’t heard anything on the topic. Are there LGBT characters in Overwatch? And if so, when will we hear about it?”

This time, they were not satisfied with a vague statement, but demanded more information. The lead writer of the game gave a rather detailed answer on the topic and assured that they had “not forgotten about this theme.” In fact, there are supposed to be several characters from the LGBT spectrum, which likely led to many new stories at the moment of its announcement. But all fans can look forward to insights into these stories, as a story will be released soon that showcases such a relationship. By “soon,” they mean not “Blizzard-soon” but an actual – perhaps even this year.
What kind of story it will be remains unknown. It could be a comic or another short film, as they mentioned that they would be making “Seasons” for the cinematics. After the Bastion cinematic, the one for Sombra followed, and a season with only 2 episodes would be rather short.
