Photobombing also exists in Overwatch. At least in the new game mode “Junkenstein’s Revenge”.
Currently, there is a new game mode in Overwatch, “Junkenstein’s Revenge”, available for the duration of the Halloween event. The goal in this game mode is to stop Zomnics as quickly as possible, defend the gate, and collect points so you can rank ahead of your friends and brag a little.
But what “actually” interests players is often not the game goal, as they have found a whole new objective in Junkenstein’s Revenge: Crashing the “Boss Selfies”.
Whenever a boss appears in the event (Reaper, Mercy, Roadhog, or Junkrat), the camera in the game zooms in on the newcomer to announce them. This moment is what many players try to catch in order to position themselves in the shot – preferably with an emote to make it look ridiculous.
Many players also try to time the appearance of an opposing boss perfectly to stun the respective enemy with a sleep arrow, because then the camera goes wild. We have some of the best shots for you:
Both are definitely a different kind of photobombing.
Cortyn says: I must admit that I also tried to position myself correctly in the second round (and failed spectacularly). However, it also just looks too funny when the narrator in the form of Reinhardt dramatically announces the appearance of a new boss while the team makes silly faces at the camera. No matter how dramatically he talks about the alchemist’s problems – we have to laugh.
