A little earlier than planned, Blizzard has deployed the latest patch of Overwatch to the live servers.
The latest patch came unexpectedly
Actually, fans were only expecting the latest patch of Overwatch on September 6, but the developers obviously did not want to keep anyone waiting any longer. Therefore, since last night, all players of the PC version can install the latest patch and dive into the new map Eichenwalde, which is set in Germany (near Stuttgart). Aside from the new map, the second season of Overwatch has now also begun. This will last for about 10 weeks, giving players enough time to complete their 10 placement matches and earn a rank that will again be rewarded with Competitive Points at the end. Moreover, there are a variety of new emotes, so almost all characters can now sit or lie down and have a “Laughter” emote. D.Va even received a legendary emote where she shuts down her mech to play video games with it while munching on Doritos and drinking energy drinks – a true gamer.
To let players enjoy the new map Eichenwalde more frequently, the developers have released a special Brawl. For one week, only Eichenwalde can be played as a Brawl, with the additional rule that each hero can only appear once per team. Those who want to explore the German map should dive into this mode now at will – or just rely on luck in Quick and Competitive Play.
