The tenth season of Overwatch has begun and there is already trouble. Reinhardt players are throwing in the towel.
With the start of May, a new season has also begun in Overwatch. For the 10th time, ranked mode is here, and this time there is a significant change: Brigitte.
The new support hero Brigitte with her flail, shield, and aura healing had already caused criticism beforehand, but with her debut in the ranked mode, emotions are running high.
Reinhardt fans on the edge of a nervous breakdown
Who is angry? Especially fans of the tank Reinhardt feel betrayed, as Reinhardt is currently hardly playable. This is due to Brigitte, who can pierce Reinhardt’s shield with her shield bash and stun him. After that, she can throw her flail, sending Reinhardt several meters in a desired direction. Combined with other heroes that can also stun or push (like Doomfist), absurdly silly situations arise, like this one:
Some players are already talking about the “displacement meta,” where the goal is just to push opponents around as much as possible while shooting them.
What are the demands? Already now, some players wish that various crowd control abilities (stuns, push mechanics, sleeps) would be nerfed. Especially Reinhardt should be improved a bit to counter these mechanics more effectively.
Rewards for Overwatch Season 10
As usual, with a new season in Overwatch, there are new rewards to earn. After completing 10 placement matches, you will already secure the spray logo and profile picture of the new season.
At the end of the season, there will once again be a large amount of competitive points to unlock golden weapons for the heroes.
New map Rialto comes, but not yet in ranked
Aside from that, the new map Rialto, which was previously tested on the PTR and could already be played in “Retribution,” is finally being added to the game. Starting tomorrow (May 3, 2018), the map may appear in quick match. Then it will take a few more days before it also appears in ranked mode, so all players have enough time to get accustomed to the map.
