Good day and welcome to our live ticker for the release of Season 1 in Overwatch 2. You can still play the shooter, as you will have to wait quite some time until the release of the new update. We will inform you here as soon as there are news about the release. So feel free to stop by more often and bookmark the page.
When is the release of Season 1? It is on February 10, as Overwatch 2 is set to receive its relaunch. The game will take on the name of its predecessor and feature a massive update. In addition to 5 new heroes, there will also be significant changes that will influence the development of the shooter in the future, primarily focusing on a story.
Although the start time has not yet been officially communicated, the countdown to be able to play Anran and complete the Battle Pass ends at 8:00 PM German time. Experience shows that updates also appear at this time. Your client should have already downloaded part of the update automatically if you have this option enabled. The rest of the patch will then be available for download from 8:00 PM.
The update is massive and could cause a large influx of players. Therefore, we will monitor the release with a live ticker and keep you informed about the server status and additional information.
Patch Notes: Where can I find them?
Are the patch notes already available? No, unfortunately not yet. Patch notes are usually released for Overwatch when the patch has celebrated its release. However, we will summarize them here or in a separate article when they become known.
What highlights does the update bring? Overwatch will change in many ways, and some of these changes might actually please you. These include:
- 5 new heroes that will be playable immediately after the release of the update.
- Relaunch with the original name “Overwatch” without the 2.
- Focus on story, and the first part will be called “The Reign of Talon.” This is expected to last until 2027.
- Season 1 will start immediately after the release of the update.
- There will be a meta-event called Conquest.
- User interface and UX will be revised. The hero lobby will also receive a new look.
- An event revolving around Hello Kitty will start and is set to run from February 10 to 23.
