A new “Cinematic” from Blizzard is meant to get the Overwatch fans into the Christmas spirit. But even there, Tracer and Reaper can only argue.
In keeping with Christmas, it has become a tradition for the Overwatch team to release a little video. This year, they fulfill a typical childhood fantasy of living toys. While children wait for Santa Claus, the Overwatch collectible figures come to life.
Here’s what to see: In the video, the Overwatch figures of Tracer and Reaper come to life and fight over the chocolate cookies. Reaper is just “typical Reaper” and complains a bit that Santa Claus has never visited him. Tracer, on the other hand, is being playful, claims the cookies from Reaper, and constantly teases him. In the end, however, there is a little happy ending – Santa gets his cookies, and Reaper gets one too.
Fans demand new voicelines: The video is extremely well received by players. Some are directly demanding that a few quotes from the clip should ideally become voicelines. Who wouldn’t want to hear a “Hmmm, Cookies!” from Reaper? Or a slightly depressed “Santa never came to my house!”?
By the way, last year’s “Overwatch Special” was particularly absurd. There, you could watch Jeff Kaplan sitting in front of the fireplace for hours and enjoying the day in contemplative peace. However, fans liked it so much that a repeat of the whole thing is being called for under the current video…
