Blizzard cares for dogs. With the “Puppy Rumble,” Overwatch has launched the cutest puppy event in the world.
On the night from Sunday to Monday, things were “a bit” different during the Overwatch League. Instead of watching professional players compete for high prize money, the “Puppy Rumble” took place.
Dogs and puppies were dressed up as various heroes from Overwatch and then had to compete against each other in an “arena” to play a round of Capture the Flag.
Of course, there were no real battles, but rather an overdose of cuteness in the form of dogs playing with each other. The “map objective” took a back seat, because who could think of skill ratings while watching the playful antics of the dogs?

Attention for homeless dogs
This event was presented as an actual match – there were introductory videos for each of the “teams” and everything was accompanied by commentators who offered more than just a few funny remarks.
The event was organized together with various animal shelters that care for abandoned dogs. The goal was to generate more attention for the dogs and help them find a new home.
Many of the dogs caught the interest of viewers and some four-legged Overwatch stars have since found new owners.
Cortyn says: I find it absolutely fascinating how the commentators can remain so serious throughout all of this and never run out of “silly remarks.” The acting talent for this is simply outstanding. Aside from that, it was certainly a nice thing to help some dogs find a new home – it’s also great PR for Blizzard and Overwatch. Thus, it was a “win-win” situation for everyone involved and was immensely funny.
