Finally, Blizzard is addressing Reinhardt’s issues. Soon, the German knight Overwatch could be playable again in Overwatch!
Although Overwatch has been on the market for several years now, there are still numerous bugs and issues. It’s no wonder, as new patches and updates constantly expand the game, and it is natural for bugs to appear.
However, Reinhardt in particular has always suffered from these bugs and is considered hopelessly bugged. Now, there is a new patch on the PTR of Overwatch that aims to change that.
What’s wrong with Reinhardt? Many of Reinhardt’s abilities are occasionally not calculated correctly in Overwatch.
For example, opponents may not be caught by his ultimate Earthshatter even though they are positioned in the center of his field of view. His charge also often causes problems and simply “shoves” opponents aside instead of carrying them along.
What is to be fixed? The developers have written a number of fixes in the patch notes that should improve Reinhardt. These include:
- Reinhardt will no longer pin targets that are behind him at the start of the charge.
- Reinhardt should now be able to pin targets while moving in the charge (i.e., swinging left or right).
- Reinhardt’s Earthshatter should now hit opponents who are on the payload.
- The effect of Reinhardt’s Earthshatter should now be able to ascend certain elevations again.
- A bug has been fixed where Reinhardt sometimes simply turned around when he deactivated his barrier shield.
The patch was deployed on the PTR last night (08/30/2018) and is expected to go live in a few weeks.
Fans want more: Many players believe that Reinhardt is now hardly relevant in Overwatch. With more and more agile heroes who have a lot of control effects, such as stuns or knocks, an immobile, slow hero like Reinhardt seems out of place.
Players are therefore demanding buffs or a rework of the character, similar to what happened recently with Symmetra.
Are you looking forward to the fixes for Reinhardt? Or have you had no problems with his bugs?
