Patch 1.23 was deployed to the live servers of Overwatch a few days ago. However, Blizzard is already working on the next patch, which is being prepared on the PTR and will nerf Brigitte. Brigitte has just been made playable in the ranked mode of Overwatch. We have the PTR patch notes.
Since the start of Season 10 of Overwatch, Brigitte can also be played in ranked mode. Since then, she has been a constant presence in almost every round and regularly frustrates Tracer players.
Blizzard has responded unusually quickly to this. Work is already underway on Patch 1.24, which is being prepared on the PTR. It mainly includes two minor changes to Ana and Brigitte, which could significantly impact gameplay with the healers.
Preliminary Patch Notes for Overwatch PTR Update 1.24
Hero Updates
Ana
- Biotic Rifle
- No longer hits heroes with full health
- Magazine size increased from 10 to 14
Developer Comment: These changes are intended to help Ana maintain her healing and allow her to determine more precisely when she needs to reload instead of just healing until reload is forced.
Brigitte
- Inspiration
- Maximum armor per player reduced from 150 to 100.
- Shield Bash
- Cooldown increased from 5 to 6 seconds.
These changes help Ana to heal more effectively and make Brigitte no longer an absolute threat to flanking heroes. The higher cooldown may seem slight, but it is enough for a Tracer to empty another magazine into Brigitte or to retreat.
In addition to the changes to the heroes, there are also small adjustments to custom games and bug fixes. Ana should also now be able to self-apply the nanoboost in a deathmatch.
When the patch will be released is not yet known. Based on previous experience with the PTR development cycles, May 15th or 22nd are likely release dates.
