Even a Widowmaker can fight at a control point in Overwatch sometimes. At least in our “Play of the Game” moments of the week.
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch, often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We searched through social media and picked out three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week.
Our first entry features a McCree doing what he does best: calling out the time of day. In the form of the player Herobunny, he plans a nasty ambush on Volskaya Industries with a Sombra and sneaks up behind the second control point. As Sombra rushes in and takes out all enemies with her ultimate hack, McCree lines up and gets a bunch of enemies in front of his revolver. You can already guess how the scenario ends.
Snipers like Hanzo and Widowmaker have a somewhat ridiculed reputation in the Overwatch community. They are never at the control point and don’t switch their character, even if the opposing team consists of 6 direct counters. Moreover, they are never where it’s important: at the map objective. The player Fish demonstrates on King’s Row that even as a Widowmaker, you don’t always have to stand far away. One by one, he dismantles the opposing team (almost) single-handedly.
Our last clip is (once again) not a real “Play of the Game”, but simply a perfect coincidence. Because who has ever seen an Ana who can summon a Roadhog hook? Probably no one, right? This little moment therefore shows the perfect timing. What a great but slightly overpowered character that would be. Nitan would be pleased.
