Overwatch may soon receive a new option that will make life easier for solo players.
Almost every Overwatch player knows the problem. You play for a cozy evening and get nothing but strange teammates in every round that you would rather send to hell. But then it happens: the perfect team! Friendly teammates, competent communication, and an overall good atmosphere. For a few minutes, you find yourself in paradise and hardly any match could be better – but then it’s already over. The team is torn apart after the game, and everyone looks for a match again as solo players.
This is exactly a point that many players criticize. The user Crimsonhood demanded in the forum: Give us an option to continue playing as a group after the match! Perhaps a button that can be clicked to vote for playing another round with exactly this group. Complicated friend requests would then be eliminated.
Jeff Kaplan has, as often, responded directly in the forum and replied:
“We like this idea. We have some similar ideas that we are currently discussing. We’ll see what we can do.”
While this is not a promise yet, it seems that the developers care about such a feature as well.
Cortyn says: Players have long been demanding a way to form “temporary friendships” with other gamers without the cumbersome process of first having to accept a Battle.net friendship. With such a feature, particularly solo players would more often enjoy competent teammates and thus find more long-term fun in the game. It’s only a matter of time until Blizzard integrates exactly this – or a very similar – feature into Overwatch.
