With level 6,000, one would think that this Overwatch player has no other goals in life. But that’s a misconception – he still has time for a job!
The player TreeboyDave is already considered a living legend among Overwatch fans. He may not be the best player, but no one invests more time in the game than he does. He has now reached player level 6,000 and has spent over 9,000 hours in the game. And there is no end in sight for him.
12 hours a day. Since the launch of Overwatch, TreeboyDave has been playing an average of 12 hours every day, which has now earned him an account level of over 6,000 – higher than any other player in Overwatch.
Despite the constant gaming, he still has a job. If anyone thinks that so much passion and time can only flow into one game if you are unemployed, they are mistaken. Besides his roughly 12 hours a day in Overwatch, TreeboyDave also has a job and takes care of the cleaning of a restaurant.
He only does what he enjoys. In an interview with Kotaku, TreeboyDave explained that he sees no compulsion to keep playing. His “long hours of streaming are a great fun! It helps me fill my life with nice things, so I don’t have to take a break.”
His level has no symbol. TreeboyDave has now reached such a high level that Overwatch no longer offers its own symbols for it. The frame of the portrait actually changes every 100 levels – but at level 6,000, nothing changes anymore. It’s time for Blizzard to improve on this, even if it’s just for a single player for now.
Goals for the future. TreeboyDave constantly sets new goals for himself to stay motivated. He once aimed to accumulate 100 hours of gameplay on all characters – that is long behind him now. Now he aims for 250 hours on each hero. On top of that, he wants to reach the milestone of 1,000,000 credits. Currently, he stands at 350,000 credits. So this will keep him busy for quite a while.
