In Overwatch there is a curious bug. A player was able to play completely new heroes – namely the Talon Warriors from Retribution!
Every now and then, small errors creep into Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch. Most of the time, they are just trivialities that do not pose a major problem – but sometimes there are serious bugs that give players unexpected opportunities!
Currently, there is in Overwatch the “Archives” event with the two game modes “Retribution” and “Uprising”. In both PvE modes, there are special enemy types, such as the Bomber or the Talon Assassin. What few players know: Apparently, you can also control these characters yourself!
Talon Units in Ranked Completely Overpowered
This is exactly what happened on the Korean servers. Here, a player plays as “Talon Assault Tank” in the ranked mode and can dominate his opponents. Because he has much more health points than an ordinary character.
Even more absurd, but just as funny, is playing a Uprising Bomber – the big bombs move only very slowly.
You can also play as a Talon Assassin.
How exactly this exploit occurs is not clear – and it is best if no one tries to replicate it. Because that could lead to serious account penalties.
Blizzard has now reacted to the reports and was able to identify the bug. Throughout the day, there should be a server-side fix that makes it impossible to play Talon characters in the future.
On Reddit, players are already joking that Blizzard is now obliged to create an arcade mode where you can play Talon heroes. Because if it’s playable in Overwatch for more than 15 minutes, there has to be a game mode for it – that’s how the law works.
