The “Play of the Game” in Overwatch is supposed to highlight and reward players for particularly good plays. However, the system is far from perfect.
Heroic Plays – Even in Death
Anyone who has played a few rounds of Overwatch themselves or at least watched some streamers knows the principle of the “Play of the Game”. The game remembers particularly good plays and presents them at the end of the match for all players. It’s a special honor for the most successful moment of a game. Usually, it involves a particularly stylish multi-kill, but occasionally… well, not.
For example, in the case of this Hanzo, whose Play of the Game consists of highly skilled hopping:
For players of the dwarf Torbjörn, a scene like this is not entirely unusual, but it is somehow amusing to have the “best play” with one’s own death – long live the power of the turret.
Finally, we have a really good play from Lucio, who took three opponents to the afterlife with a single shot. See for yourself:
In conclusion, it should be said that most “Play of the Game” sequences are well chosen by the game. However, such outliers as mentioned above are particularly interesting and should ideally belong to the past with the release.
