The latest patch 1.7 for Overwatch targets the ladies – Ana and D.Va are getting nerfed.
As announced by Jeff Kaplan a few days ago, the next patch for Overwatch is now available on the PTR (Test Server). In addition to the previously discussed improvements to Roadhog’s hook, the patch has some other changes in store.
This time, the ladies of Overwatch will have to take quite a hit, as both Ana and D.Va are being subjected to some tough nerfs.
The biotic grenade from Ana temporarily doubled the healing received by the target. This has proven to be too powerful, which is why the effect is being reduced by a full 50%. With this, the goal is primarily to curb the current “3-tank meta” that often took advantage of Ana’s grenade.
D.Va has to face two nerfs. Her maximum hit points remain at 600, but she loses 200 armor, which is replaced by health points. In plain terms: She now has 400 health and 200 armor. This should make her more vulnerable to some characters (armor reduces damage taken from attacks by up to 50%).
Her fusion cannons are also being nerfed. The damage per shot is reduced from 3 to 2, but the number of shots per fire is increased from 8 to 11. If all shots hit, one shot previously dealt 24, now 22 damage points.
But the ladies don’t have to despair completely, as Sombra is getting a slight buff. The time it takes her to hack is being reduced from 1.0 seconds to 0.8 seconds. This should allow her to hack surprised enemies more effectively.
Aside from the balancing changes, there are also a number of improvements. The long-announced radial menu for multiple voicelines, emotes, and spray logos is making its way into the game.
When patch 1.7 goes live is still unknown at the moment. There might still be changes during testing on the PTS.
The annoying bug that allowed Mei to completely ruin 3v3 will also be fixed.
