A new update for Overwatch is live and has fixed some annoying bugs. Especially Mercy players should find it easier again.
Mercy’s beam heals consistently again
Overnight, a new patch was deployed for Overwatch, at least on the PC version of the hero shooter. According to Blizzard, the update has fixed several bugs with the three heroes Zarya, Winston, and Mercy. Each of these heroes had a small issue.
- The Caduceus staff’s beam now stays on the same target even when Mercy quickly switches between “healing” and “damage,” even if she is not looking at the target.
- While Winston is in his furious ultimate form, his hits should now consistently hit the targets. Previously, the hits were calculated at varying times during the strike animation.
- Lastly, there is an adjustment for Zarya; her “right-click” shot consistently dealt high damage numbers, even when the charge of her shield had long fallen below the required value.
Furthermore, the “Sudden Death” timer has been adjusted on all maps and now has a different length, depending on the map. The times now vary between 90 and 110 seconds to create more balanced matches.
What about the “Leaver issue”?
Apparently, the patch still hasn’t resolved an annoying issue in ranked mode. If there is a person in one of the two teams who leaves the game early, the rank points will still only be adjusted slightly. Even if the player returns in time, this penalty will not be offset. Jeff Kaplan has already responded to the renewed complaints:
“We are fixing this. Hopefully today. I apologize for the inconvenience.”
It is thus assumed that another hotfix will come during the day that finally removes this issue from the list.
