The latest patch of Overwatch has changed quite a bit. The most loot is now available in the Arcade in “No Limits”.
With the “Sombra Patch” 1.5 some changes were made in Overwatch, such as the hero limit now being present in the “Quick Play” mode, meaning: each character can only appear once per team. However, for those who do not want that, there is now the new Arcade mode “No Limits”, where the name says it all: there are no restrictions, so nothing stops a defense of 6 Torbjörns.
The problem was that the game modes in the Arcade yielded fewer experience points than in Quick Play or Ranked mode. And this is where many fans felt cheated during the PTR, as they preferred Quick Play without the hero limit, especially because there were many experience points available there.
The final version of the patch, which we can all play now, brought some changes: No Limits now yields as many experience points as Quick Play. Thus, “No Limits” is the most lucrative game mode if you want to collect loot boxes, as, in addition to the XP, there are also 3 free loot boxes when you win 3 games per week in the Arcade.
So for those who want to collect loot boxes: On to the fun of limitless gaming!
Cortyn thinks: Since “No Limits” is only the most lucrative game mode for a limited time (specifically 9 wins per week), I can live with that. It especially helps fans of this type of Overwatch consistently find enough players to engage in this madness. And to be quite honest, I simply do not want to miss “Mercy and the 5 Dwarfs”. It’s just too much fun.
