We will look at 3 heroes that may soon become playable in Overwatch .
Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch started with a solid number of heroes, but the developers have announced that they will periodically add new maps and heroes to the game. After Ana and Sombra were added in the release year, it’s about time to think about the future of Overwatch. We will take a look at three theories about which heroes might come in 2017.
Overwatch New Hero: Doomfist – Strong fist, changing guy
It seems beyond doubt that Doomfist will eventually belong to the heroes of Overwatch. Ideas for this character have existed since the first trailer for the game, where the two brothers visit an exhibit and ponder about Doomfist.
The name Doomfist doesn’t seem to originate from a single character, but is strongly associated with the robotic glove that is exhibited in the museum (which you escort as a payload in Numbani).
Numbani also gives us further information about Doomfist, as there have already been at least 2 Doomfists.
- One was labeled as “The Savior” – obviously, a hero who has saved a city or a people from a great evil.
- Another Doomfist was nicknamed “The Scourge” – implying that the second wielder of the glove was significantly less friendly and is likely to be classified as a villain.
- The third poster announces the “Successor”. So far, there is only a silhouette for this, but it seems that the current owner of the glove has someone (or in the case of an Omnic “something”) in mind to wear this glove.
It’s also possible that there will be a reference to the first cinematic again. Then the clients of Widowmaker and Reaper may already have a “villain” in mind who is supposed to don the glove again.
In line with this, we also have an article where players demand that Doomfist should be voiced by Terry Crews – since he’s really into it.
Cortyn says: The chances for Doomfist are pretty high. Hardly any character has been discussed as much as the gentleman with the thick glove. It’s only a matter of time before we can welcome Doomfist – but only Jeff Kaplan really knows the final answer.
