The ladies of Overwatch are getting a bit of fine-tuning. Mercy now heals herself more and Pharah’s rockets become stronger.
Just a few days after the start of the PTR for Overwatch, the patch receives some adjustments to fix small bugs and make further balance changes. Especially Mercy can look forward to increased self-healing. We have translated the current adjustments for you:
- D.Va‘s ultimate in human form, “Call Mech”, now charges 20% faster.
- The explosion of Widowmaker’s poison mine now deals no damage to herself. Additionally, the mine now has a 20% shorter cooldown.
- The minimum damage taken from Pharah’s rocket launcher has been increased to 25% (previously 12%). The minimum knockback from the explosion of her rockets has been reduced to 0% (previously 75%).
- Mercy‘s passive health regeneration now begins after just one second without taking damage (previously 3 seconds).
Overall, the adjustments ensure that D.Va can now call her mech back as early as before since the charge time of all ultimates was recently increased. Pharah should now be able to deal reliable damage, but she may push her enemies less with the fire from regular rockets.
Until the patch notes are in a final version that we can experience on the live servers someday, a lot of time will likely pass. Therefore, the previous changes should also be taken with caution, as it is questionable whether they will ever be released to the player base.
Cortyn says: I generally find any buff to D.Va good, even if it is actually just a bug fix. I think the improvement of Widowmaker is quite nice too, as there were indeed moments when I wondered how on earth I killed myself with her. However, the improvement of Mercy’s self-healing seems a bit too strong in my view – I didn’t feel like she needed more here. It remains to be seen how these changes will actually impact the game.
