Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch has announced a new event Year of the Rooster. There will be new costumes – apparently in an Asia look.
The Western calendar currently offers little material for an event. Valentine’s Day is sometime soon, but otherwise, it’s just everyday life. Fortunately, Overwatch is international!
Overwatch: Year of the Rooster – Chinese New Year in the Shooter
On January 24, they want to celebrate the Chinese New Year. They ring in the Year of the Rooster a few days later, on January 28: the Year of the Fire Rooster. Blizzard likes to get involved.

Apart from the date and this teaser trailer, we don’t know yet what Blizzard is exactly planning. Looks like new costumes!
Polygon explains that Blizzard: It would be an event similar to Halloween or Christmas. So you can expect gameplay modes, costumes, sprays, voice lines, emotes, and other cosmetic stuff.

From the Korean Twitter account of Overwatch, there’s this somewhat different teaser trailer:

Looks like that’s the new D.va skin.
How the Christmas event went at Overwatch, you can read here. Maybe the Chinese New Year will then proceed similarly:
