Quietly a new patch came out last night for Overwatch, which has refined the balance. Ana was buffed and McCree was nerfed.
Faster Rate of Fire and Larger Magazine for Ana in Overwatch
The new hero Ana has only been playable in Overwatch for a few days, and the developers are already pushing out a patch to buff her. According to the developers, “Most players like Ana, but she is a bit weaker than we expected. The changes should improve both her healing and damage output.”
Specifically, the changes for Ana are as follows:
- The rate of fire has been increased by 20%.
- The magazine size has been increased from 8 to 10.
- Additionally, there was a bug fix that also acts like a buff. Enemies hit by the sleep dart recover after taking damage only after 0.5 seconds instead of instantly.
On the other hand, the developers are pulling McCree back. The official statement says: “The recent changes have helped McCree a lot, but that was a bit too much. These changes weaken his damage at long range, making him still stronger than in the past. The other changes allow him to land more shots with his alternate fire when he has stunned targets with the flashbang.”
For McCree, this means:
- The primary fire now deals less damage at a shorter range (10 meters less than before).
- Shots from his alternate fire (right click) are executed 15% faster.
- The recovery time after using a flashbang has been reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds.
The changes have been live since last night, and you should notice the effects immediately.
