The hints about the new hero in Overwatch are intensifying. The community is settling on: Omnic lady Anchora is the next hero!
Hardly a day has passed since the release of the “interview” with Efi Oladele and the community has already picked up the trail for the next hero. Overall, everyone seems to agree that Efi herself is not directly playable or at least does not participate directly in the combat. Since she is only eleven years old, Blizzard would likely risk huge waves of outcry.
But so far, everything points to Efi’s invention that she built to – as she says – “protect other people”. This is the clear definition of a tank. Also, her artwork, which is clearly just a snippet from a larger image, strongly suggests that she stands “next to” something large, resting her right arm on it – like a robot.
This robot has long since been named: Anchora.
Anchora, the new Omnic tank from Overwatch?
In the depths of the depths of 4chan, there was already a leak weeks ago that hardly anyone took seriously at the time. It was said that the next hero would not be Doomfist, but Anchora from Numbani. But the supposed leak reveals even more: Anchora is supposed to be a female omnic that walks on four legs.
So far, this fits together quite well, but the crucial spark is still missing to make it credible? How about an artwork from BlizzCon showing Mercy supporting a four-legged omnic?
And if that’s not enough: In Sombra’s cinematic, there is even an image of a four-legged omnic seen directly next to Doomfist’s glove in the “Numbani” section of the web.
On Reddit and in other social media, people are already sure that Anchora will step onto the battlefield as the next heroine to further fill the pool of tanks.
Another interesting detail: The “eye” in the web image of Sombra has three dots below and above it – just like the face painting of Efi. What this means will probably only be revealed in the future.
The hints are intensifying. It can’t be long now until Blizzard officially reveals the new hero.
