Blizzard has now revealed the new hero in Overwatch : It is Orisa. She will be the twenty-fourth new hero in Overwatch, the “New Hero.”
Finally, the time has come. Blizzard has revealed the 24th hero in the shooter Overwatch. There is an update video that introduces her. Orisa is already playable on the PTR.
Here is the developer update from Blizzard with German subtitles – in the video, Jeff Kaplan explains what role Doomfist plays in the backstory of the new hero and how prodigy Efi fits in:
Orisa is a fresh hero with no significant past in the world of Overwatch. She is somewhat “freshly hatched”, a modified OR15 unit assembled by prodigy Efi Oladele after the OR15 units suffered a devastating defeat against Doomfist.
Overwatch New Hero: Orisa – These are her abilities
Orisa is a tank. She will shoot with a fusion cannon. Her shots slow her down slightly. The weapon is supposed to have a high range, higher than most tanks in Overwatch, only Zarya can keep up. As a secondary fire mode, Orisa has a kind of “mini-graviton bomb” that can be used multiple times. It pulls enemies together for a short time.
It is said that her “defensive protocol” ability makes Orisa an anchor for her team around which everything will revolve. The ability allows her to reduce damage. She resists all crowd control abilities.
Through a protective barrier, she can shield her allies similar to Reinhardt or Winston. The barrier is about half the size of Winston’s bubble, but can be erected by Orisa.
Her ultimate is a super booster, which she sets up and boosts the damage output of all allies in sight. The opposing team can attack and destroy this damage booster.

Orisa is designed as a stationary tank similar to Reinhardt. An anchor around which her team can align.
Here is the background video about Orisa in German
In a second video, Orisa’s origin story in Overwatch is presented, her background:
In recent days, there had been several teasers that a new hero would come to Overwatch. Speculations mainly revolved around Doomfist. Now the hero has been officially revealed.
Orisa is already playable on the PTR. The PTR is currently only accessible to PC players. Surely we will soon receive first-hand information about the new heroine in Overwatch.
