The number of sold Overwatch games has reached a new milestone. In just a few weeks, the number has risen to over 10 million players.
10 million sold games in 3 weeks
The success of Overwatch can no longer be denied. After Blizzard announced shortly after the launch of the game that more than 7 million players had decided to purchase the hero shooter, this number has drastically increased. The official Twitter account of Overwatch stated today that this number has now grown to a proud 10 million players – and is still rising.
Of course, “selling games” is not synonymous with active players, but there is currently no information on the actual numbers of how many gamers log into the shooter day by day. However, based on the large interest in social media and on YouTube, it can be said that Blizzard can be quite pleased with the current results.
Mein-MMO thinks: Before the release, many players were still skeptical that Overwatch was basically just a “Team Fortress 2 from Blizzard,” and the lack of interest in the game’s Twitch streams predicted a rather bleak future. For most, it seems that the old principle applies to Overwatch, with which Blizzard repeatedly succeeds: once you’ve played a few games, it’s hard to escape the pull. The interest of the fans is also reflected on our page – news and articles about the shooter are always clicked on.
