Two more heroes are being reworked in Overwatch. Buffs are already planned for Reaper and Mei.
The balance in Overwatch is a constant area of work for the developers. They continually have to adjust various values to ensure the heroes hover at a similar power level.
Now that Brigitte has entered the battlefield and will be available in ranked mode starting next week, the developers are already considering new adjustments for existing heroes.
Reaper and Mei in Focus for Buffs
Especially Reaper and Mei are currently being “looked at closely” and could soon benefit from small buffs.
- Especially Reaper is likely in a weaker position due to the release of Brigitte. As a melee fighter, he is reliant on getting close to enemies, and he is often stunned by shield bashes.
- Mei was long considered an absolute terror and a feared enemy on the battlefield, but over the months and through various adjustments, she has become increasingly unpopular. Nowadays, she is rarely seen and even less often in a truly useful position.
Even though no concrete plans have been announced yet, the developers expect to take the PTR online again soon – if not this weekend, then at some point next week.
At least for Mei, there is already a hint, as Geoff Goodman joked in the forum that she might soon be able to freeze multiple enemies at once with her Frost Beam. However, whether this is just a joke or an actual consideration, we will surely find out in the coming days.
What changes do you think are needed for Reaper and Mei? Or are the two already perfect as they are?
Have you seen that Overwatch is now banning memes? Pepe can no longer be used by players …
