At the Supercon, a fan wanted to help spark the love between Lúcio and D.Va. And what better way to do that than with a Dakimakura?
Voice actors often take a backseat when it comes to well-known video games. A notable exception is Overwatch, as the various voice actors of the English original frequently appear at numerous conventions, act silly on their YouTube channels, or interact with the game’s community on Reddit.
Like the players, they are fans of various creations such as fanfictions, drawings, and the like. After the community imagined a relationship between Hana Song (D.Va) and Lúcio, the two voice actors responded to it.
At the Supercon last week, many Overwatch voice actors were present to give autographs and simply chat with the fans. The perfect opportunity to bring the fanfictions a little closer to reality!
A fan wanted to help the love between the characters along a bit and brought a Dakimakura for Jonny Cruz (Lúcio). These oversized pillows are printed on both sides, usually with well-known characters from the anime or video game world. While one side appears modestly dressed, the back is typically much more revealing.
Jonny Cruz seemed to be quite taken with the gift and visibly happy. Therefore, he also put on a little show in front of the camera and disappeared with his new love into the horizontal.
The “Oh my God” in the background is actually from D.Va’s voice – Charlet Chung.
