The top earners in the worldwide digital games market for the month of June are known.
The market research company SuperData has published a recent report on the digital games with the highest revenue in June. Established top franchises defended their leading positions last summer month. On consoles, these include Call of Duty, FIFA 16, and Grand Theft Auto V. Also on PC, GTA V is on the “podium” and underscores the successful month. The Rockstar game landed behind Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Here are the “Top 5 Games Across Digital Platforms” in June 2016 – by global revenue.

GTA Online dominated with $53.2 million in June, thanks to strong revenue on consoles and PC. While download numbers steadily fell in previous months, the Steam Summer Sale with over 200,000 downloads did the game good. Important for the strong month was also the “The Further Adventures in Finance and Felony” expansion for GTA V Online.
It is important to note: Pay-to-Play and Free2Play are used “loosely” by SuperData, in the sense of “If a subscription can be made, then it is Pay-to-Play,” if not, then Free2Play. Also, the use of the term “MMO” is quite debatable.
The numbers here are limited exclusively to the digital market, so it does not concern games that are sold over the counter.
