Tonight (08.02.2018) the latest patch for Overwatch is expected, which will kick off the Year of the Dog event. The update will definitely include the new map for Capture the Flag, but also the new cosmetic items that can only be obtained during the Year of the Dog.
In advance, Blizzard had already announced a new feature that fans of Overwatch will surely appreciate. Players can now change their hero’s skin in the lobby! This allows for team appearances to be matched and appear in a unified look.

Furthermore, it has already been leaked on Reddit how the patch notes will look. Here are the highlights that are coming your way:
New legendary skins during the event
- Red Phoenix Mercy
- Black Turtle Zarya
- White Tiger Genji
- Black Lily Widowmaker
Doomfist is getting some changes to balance him better. The number of his fired bullets will be increased, while the damage is reduced. The basic damage of a shot remains unchanged.
Doomfist
- Hand Cannon
- The damage has been reduced from 11 to 6
- The number of bullets has been increased from 6 to 11
- The weapon’s spread is now more consistent
There are also numerous improvements to the user interface that should especially eliminate “surprising” ranked games.
General
- The matchmaking interface now shows which game mode you have queued for.
- Leaving a ranked game now leaves a chat message.
- The hero selection screen now displays the game mode and map type
Heroes
- Zenyatta’s Orb of Harmony and Orb of Discord now display the hero name of the target hit.
Last but not least, there are plenty of bug fixes related to small issues. Especially users of Discord (or other voice programs) with an “overlay” feature will be pleased, as this should no longer affect mouse focus.
