Console players have nothing to show in Overwatch ? A player switches and fights his way into the Top 500.
Gamers on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have known these accusations for years. As a console player, you are just a “Console Peasant” and don’t have to accomplish anything to be good in shooters. After all, there is aim assist and other aids, making the games virtually play themselves. Quite different, of course, are the high lords of the “PC Master Race”, who attribute every hit solely to their perfect skill – you know the conflict.
The player DSPStanky has a YouTube channel where he shows some tactics for Lucio that particularly exploit walls to enable particularly nasty tactics using wall rides. The comments often conveyed that “this only works on console” and “no one on PC would fall for such things”.
DSPStanky was fed up with this treatment. So he set out to show the world that he can perform just as well on PC as on console. Without beating around the bush: Even on the PC version of Overwatch, he managed to snag a spot in the coveted Top 500. Obviously, the PC Master Race falls for the same tricks.
As he writes himself, it was one of the “most satisfying things ever to make this video” – you can already tell that while watching the video.
Cortyn says: The constant condescending treatment of console players really gets on my nerves. Whenever I hear people from the “PC Master Race” and the “Console Peasants” talk, I roll my eyes. It’s all the more wonderful that a console player just got “fed up” and was able to prove that he can play well on any platform. If he just had a turntable as an input device, then the sensation would be perfect…
