The HiRez Studios have announced when you can play the release version of the online shooter Paladins on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. They’re coming out of beta. Paladins is regarded as a free alternative to Blizzard’s Overwatch.
Fancy a new online shooter? You already know Overwatch inside and out? Then Paladins might be for you. The release is just around the corner. On May 8, it will be the case, then Paladins on PC, PS4, and Xbox One will no longer be in beta.
Developers are satisfied with the state of the game
Those who participated in the testing phase can look forward to 200 crystals as in-game currency when they log into the game between May 8 and May 31. The developers are looking forward to the release, which will be kicked off with a tournament in Las Vegas.
The team believes that Paladins has now reached a status through the last update that offers a solid and stable basis. However, they still want to continue developing it.
The team is proud of what has been achieved in the past 20 months:
- 36 unique heroes with different abilities have been created
- The gameplay has been continuously optimized and changed
- The card system received a complete overhaul
- The game has been developed simultaneously for multiple platforms

This year, HiRez Studios also has more plans:
- Four more heroes are planned
- Game systems will be optimized
- “Quality of Life” features will be improved to make playing more enjoyable
- Each patch is expected to offer new content
If you are interested in the Overwatch competitor Paladins, keep May 8 in mind, as this is the day the online shooter officially launches. The game is free-to-play, so it does not need to be purchased separately.
In a free-to-play game like Paladins, the transition from beta to release is actually just a developer’s decision and has few other impacts.
