Blizzard publishes blog entries of a future Overwatch character – but who exactly is that? And are there updates regarding new beta invitations?
The Frosty Researcher
Blizzard seems to have a penchant for teasing its fans with teasers that essentially have very little content. This has now happened again with Overwatch, as you can currently read the blog entries of “Mei-Ling Zhou”, a Chinese researcher who shares stories from her travels.
It is very likely that she is a new character, as she describes her travels through various zones and repeatedly mentions her invention, the endothermic distributor, which appears to affect heat and cold.
According to the latest blog entry, Mei wants to “stay in the mountains for as long as possible,” but my feeling tells me that she will descend from there on Friday to attract some attention in Anaheim. At BlizzCon, we will surely learn more about it.
In the comments of the original post, there is speculation that she might be a frost mage in the style of Queen Elsa – they would have my blessing for this idea. In this sense: The cold never bothered me anyway…
Were there again beta invitations on November 4, 2015?
Yes, in the last few hours many received an invitation to the Overwatch beta. It is quite possible that some Blizzard accounts will be activated for the beta, as there are still delays occurring. As a reminder: No keys are being sent. And for those who do not know how to gain access to the closed beta: Here’s how you can sign up for the beta of the upcoming multiplayer shooter Overwatch.
[BETA] Reminder! Notification emails may be slow to arrive, but you can check Account Management any time to verify if you’ve been flagged.
