The next event of Overwatch will be Halloween. New skins, voicelines, and much more await the players.
After the end of the “Summer Games” event of Overwatch, fans have already speculated when the next event might begin? Only at Christmas? Or perhaps already at Halloween? After all, other Blizzard titles like World of Warcraft also have their own events for the spooky celebration.
Sweets or Treats in Overwatch
Now, there was confirmation on Reddit: Overwatch will have a Halloween event with fresh loot boxes!
The Xbox Store has already somewhat anticipated the excitement, as the purchasable loot boxes have already been displayed there.
The description states:
“Celebrate Halloween with some frightful delights for your heroes during the new event: “Overwatch Halloween Terror”!
Trick your collection by getting the new Halloween loot boxes that are available for a limited time only. Each loot box contains up to 4 cosmetic items, with at least one from the special Halloween collection. There are new Halloween skins, spray logos, highlight intros, emotes, victory poses, player icons, and voicelines.”
What else the event brings is, however, uncertain. Perhaps there will be a new brawl mode, like the former “Lúcio Ball” game mode. Exact details will likely only be revealed when Blizzard unlocks the event on the live servers – and there is no specific date for that yet. However, an end is already known: November 1, 2016. Because according to the store, the boxes can only be purchased until then.
Cortyn says: It seems that I will have to log back into Overwatch around Halloween. I just hope that Blizzard took the opportunity and developed the witch skin for Mercy. If I don’t get that (just like the Swiss girl), then there will be no treats from me, only tricks. But I am most looking forward to a new, even if only temporary, game mode. I really liked Lúcioball back then – so my expectations for the event are quite high.
