Overwatch is not a free-to-play game and only those who pay can play. As the wife of a player didn’t want to buy him the game, a particularly creative player tried to get it directly from Blizzard. Read here how it ended.
When it comes to free games, many gamers get creative. For example, last year, a player submitted the purchase price of Fallout 4 in bottle caps (the official currency of the post-apocalypse) to Bethesda and actually received a game for it.
“But I want it!”
Encouraged by such successes, player Kyle also wanted to try his luck. Because his attempts to convince his wife to share the necessary money for the purchase of Overwatch were met with little success. Therefore, he turned to Blizzard himself with an eloquent plea for help, lamenting his plight.
So Kyle first tried to convince his hard-hearted partner with an improvised table dance along with a rhetorical speech. This went horribly wrong as his shouting aggravated his wife’s headache. Next, Kyle tried to use arguments: “But I want it! There’s a talking monkey that I lovingly call ‘Professor Bananas’ and I haven’t asked for any personal belongings for five years!”
No way!
Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that Kyle had indeed received various nerdy items – like a Darth Vader PEZ dispenser or a waffle maker in the shape of the DeLorean from Back to the Future – hence his wife clearly said “No” to the purchase of Overwatch. Professor Bananas or not.
Subsequently, Kyle sought help from Blizzard and included a photo of a “work of art” where a Diablo mini-figure is licking a Hearthstone. Titled “Deadpool licks a stone”.
At Blizzard, they have a sense of humor, as an employee actually read everything and responded in a similarly humorous way. Unfortunately, they at Blizzard were neither able to convince the wife (“Wife.exe”) nor was it possible to release a free version due to the hard-hearted supervisor.
