In Overwatch loot boxes are falling. The double XP event is now active in the game – we have the details for you.
The “Anniversary” event is currently happening in Overwatch, where players can earn (or purchase) special loot boxes to unlock exclusive cosmetic upgrades. The new dances have particularly captivated fans, leading to unrest over the lack of time to unlock all emotes.
Blizzard has announced a “Double XP Weekend” for Overwatch – and it is now live on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One!
More Overwatch XP in all game modes
In all game modes, players receive double experience points for most activities in the game. This includes the following points:
- Time spent in a match
- Completion of a match
- Completion of consecutive matches
- Winning a match
- Filling in as a substitute player
- Obtaining medals
The only exception is the “first win of the day” bonus of 1,500 XP – this will not be doubled by the event.
The event lasts until Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 AM.
For players, this means they can earn loot boxes at double speed, significantly increasing their chances of obtaining special items from the event.
This is also the perfect time to convince friends to play Overwatch again or even bring new players into the game. The double experience points also apply to newcomers, who will quickly gather a storm of loot boxes at the beginning of their careers, as the first 25 levels are completed particularly quickly.
Which items from the “Anniversary” event in Overwatch do you still want to acquire before it ends? Have you already obtained everything and are just using the event to accumulate a solid amount of credits?
Have you seen what penalties are coming for leavers and quitters?
